I never know what to write about. I would like to have fun and exciting stories to tell, adventures to recount but it's just not happening. Life's going pretty calmly. I work, I go out with friends, read... a lot, and visit my fam.

Books? Did I mention books? Why yes I did! I've been lucky enough to'v read some really good ones in the last while:

Keep in mind I'm a fast reader with these books taking as little as an evening to a week to read. Being on the subway for just over an hour five days a week helps too. If you're looking for a good book to read, read any of the one's above.

So there, I've FINALLY updated this monkey-on-my-back blog. I'll try to do it more often. Especially when exciting things happen like the other day while I was waiting for the light to change. My mom and I were at Coxwell and Gerrard waiting when the person in the car in front of us kept waving. My mom and I didn't respond cos we didn't think it was to us, but then when we passed I saw it was one of my all-time favourite frineds. We pulled over, hugged, talked and now I have this awesome person back in my life.

times...they are a changin'

One thing you can say about this blog....I never let it go more than a month without a post!

I'm at my new job now. It's such a nice change. I had to say goodbye to my sweet monday to friday schedule that I've held for so long, but like I said, it's a nice change. The commute is a bit longer than my last one but only by 10 minutes. I'm back on the subway again as well so I've been getting a lot of good reading time in.

*I just finished 'the shadow of the wind'...such an amazing book. It's a book about books perfect for booklovers. Now I'm reading 'the birth house'...barely thirty pages in.

With my new schedule I feel like I've been getting out a lot more - being more productive. Been seeing a lot of movies, seeing more of the city and getting together with friends more often. People told me that with taking this new job I'd hate the schedule change....man, were they wrong. I'm loving it.

Okay, gotta go. My boys are doing a show at the Diesal Theatre until the 19th. Tonight's their opening night....gotta get ready!

a quickie

I'm at work and really shouldn't be posting....but I found a picture that just about brought tears to my eyes. It's a picture of my grandpa. Had to share it with everyone.

Okay....it's Wednesday night wing night. My posse and I are heading out shortly so this is going to be quick. Let's go point form:

-it's now exactly one week till I leave festival hall. It's been two years and now I'm on to bigger things. A get-together has been organized for July 7th with some coworkers. I'll take lots of pictures.
-we got central air!!!! ahhhhh.....to sleep with blankets again. So nice.
-I was going to take holidays in August but because of the new jayohbee I can't take them until October. New plans are in the works to go back to NYC - I love it there.
-I'm taking five days off between jobs to do nothing.
-I'm going to see Superman tomorrow in 3D imax...gonna be awesome. I saw Click yesterday - bad bad bad movie. I saw Nacho Libre right afterward which was waaaay better. I also don't recommed Cars - too long and boring.
-I also saw Devil Wears Prada. It was great. Go see it.
-I had a wonderful night at hemingways recently with a couple friends - didn't get home till midnight on a work night, but it was so fun.
-I finished Shantaram. Great book. I recommend it to everyone who likes good books.
-I'm now finally reading Anansi Boys - about halfway into it. Looking good so far.
-I went to a housewarming party on Friday. It was awesome. Amazing food. They set up a huge screen in the backyard, a projector in an upstairs window and showed films. It was very cool.
-On Saturday I went to a dinner party. I made salsa....garlicy garlicy garlicy salsa. It was a hit.
-I need a new wallet and I'm tempted to use the one I got in NYC. I'm still deciding if I should use it or save it for special occassions(a wallet?) but it's so expensive. I'd hate it if I lost it. What to do what to do.

Okay, that's all I can think of for now. Wings are calling.....

I finally watched Mirror Mask the other night and loved it. The story is a little weak - maybe I would've appreciated it more if I read it ... alas it's a graphic novel - but visually it's amazing. Dave McKean's talent is effin awesome. I highly recommend it.

Now I'm really looking forward to Coraline and I absolutely love the poster:



Although the cast is questionable...Dakota Fanning and Teri Hatcher? Are there no other child actresses out there? Luckily it's a stop motion film so it's just their voices we'll have to hear.
